Concha Jareño

Concha Jareño, a highly qualified, prize winning Spanish dancer from Madrid, is one of the most important flamenco artists today. She has participated in many important festivals and venues, both nationally and abroad.
Important names such as Yolanda Heredia, La china and Pedro Azorín, among others, appear in her academic formation.
She started out in 1998 in the Rafael de Córdoba dance company, then followed the project ¨Mujeres al borde de una bata de cola¨ headed by Yolanda Heredia. The works of Rafaela Carrasco, such as ¨La música del cuerpo¨ and ¨Otra mirada del Flamenco¨ took her to important festivals around the world. She is often a guest artist in famous tablaos around Spain.
In 2005 she puts her signature to the creation of the show ¨Y una batita de cola¨ along with Yolanda Heredia and Isabel Bayón. She becomes the choreographer of the Jazz Flamenco project ¨Herencia¨, in March of 2008 she opens her first show ¨Algo¨, in the flamenco festival ¨Flamingo¨ in Helsinki. She participates in the Bienal de Málaga 2007, Flamenco Viene del Sur 2008 and as a guest artist in the Show ¨Flamenco XXI: Café, Copa y Puro¨ by ¨Dospormedio Dance Company¨ in the Festival de Jeréz 2008.
In August of the same year, she selects La Sala Triángulo in Madrid for her debut of her first solo renditions: “Algo” and “Simplemente Flamenco”, two parallel shows in which Concha Jareño decides not to mix, and she presents both her facets, that of flamenco and a freer one.
A teacher in the legendary school ¨Amor de Dios¨ since 2004, and she has also given intensive courses all around the world.
Concha Jareño also has been awarded with the prize of Best Solo Dancer in the Madrid´s Flamenco and Spanish Dancing Choreography Contest, as well as second prize, dancing in the ¨Concurso de Cante Flamenco de las Minas¨.
In 2009 she presents ¨Algo¨ in the Festival de Jeréz, being awarded the ¨Premio Revelación¨ to the acclaim of the critics and public alike.
She takes the lead in the ¨Flamenco Brasil¨ Festival with her show ¨Simplemente Flamenco¨. In August of the same year she performs as the soloist in the Carlos Saura show ¨Flamenco hoy¨. In 2010, she rounds up her show ¨Algo¨ presenting it in the prestigious Bienal de Sevilla as part of the ¨El Flamenco que viene¨ series.
Courses
We encourage everyone to take the technique classes in order to dance choreography.
Course A and B is 1.5 hours with 30 minutes technique included.
Course C and D is 1 hour 45 min (Course D on the 5th is 1 hour 30 min, On the 6th is 2 hours. Course C has 30 min tchnique included)
Course A: Farruca (beginner level, 5 December to 11 December)
Course B: Guajira con bata de cola (intermediate level, 7 December to 13 December)
Course C: Siguiriyas (intermediate level, day class on weekdays, )
Course D: Technique for all levels (only weekends) including bata de cola technique.
If you take all Course A&B&C, you will get free Course D (technique classes)
